Podcast examples: “Urbanization” by Anna Presutti, “Habitat Fragmentation” by Pete Stanko
Students in Autumn Sabo’s FOR 201N: Global Change and Ecosystems course were challenged to research a topic that they felt passionately about regarding wide ranging themes that included climate change, land use and pollution. Students were asked to translate their research into an approachable, concise podcast episode that explains the nuances of the issue as well adaptation and/or mitigation options available to listeners. This exercise aimed to not only encouraged students to delve deeper into course content but also to get an inside look at how scientific information is messaged and disseminated to the public.
