The Lambert Undergraduate Advising Center at Penn State Harrisburg worked with the campus Center for Teaching Excellence to offer VirtualSpeech training as professional development to its staff on September 17. Participants used CTE-provided headsets with TLT’s Soft Skills Pilot accounts to explore a variety of speaking scenarios, many of which included AI generated dialog.
Participants filled out a brief questionnaire after the experience and shared that:
“I found it to work well in responding based on what I just said. It also was very helpful to hear a summary of my strengths and weaknesses in the scenario.”
“It was difficult to get used to at first, but once I was comfortable, it was a useful tool.”
“The information I learned has changed my interactions with students.”
