One of our favorite things at Media Commons is watching when a class project not only delivers great results for the student content producers – but also achieves educational goals beyond the scope of a traditional assignment. These success stories are happening every day across the Commonwealth and, to celebrate, we’ve created a brand new feature on our website, Faculty Stories.
Each of our first three stories aims to give you a sense of not only what the instructor asked their students to produce but also what they hoped to teach through multimedia and how they were able to use Media Commons resources to make their plan a reality. From Ann Quinn’s Sustainability advertisements at Behrend to Dr. Richard Alley’s climate change lessons in Geosciences at University Park to Dr. Jessica Schocker’s teaching aides in Social Studies Education at Berks, the Faculty Stories are all a quick and concise means to get inspired by the best of today’s projects.
But that’s not all: we want your story, too.
At the bottom of the Faculty Stories page is a call to action for instructors who have been using MC tools and training in their own classrooms. If you have a successful project of your own, download the four questions, step in front of a camera and send us your raw clip. Media Commons will take care of editing and uploading so that your story can become an inspiration to another crop of innovative educators at Penn State.
