On Tuesday, September 3, 2013, Media Commons hosted a “Brown Bag” lunch event for the Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education (AESE) department in the College of Ag. The event was for any instructors in the AESE department who are interested in using the Media Commons services themselves or if they want to start incorporating multimedia assignments into their classes. The event made for some great conversation about using media in the classroom and getting information to those in attendance. The event was held in the Ag Media Commons, located in 109 Ag Science and Industries Building, hosted by the Ag Media Commons consultant, Lauren Rodgers.
Highlights, not including the food, were the presentations from AESE Instructor Brad Olsen and Assistant Professor John Ewing. Brad and John explained a little bit about the media assignments in their classes, AEE 440 and AEE 413, respectively. They also talked about how they use Media Commons to support the assignments and gave ideas for their colleagues to do the same. The group even got to watch a couple of the submitted videos from Brad and John’s fall 2012 semester classes.
