This tutorial will introduce some of the basic editing skills in Premiere Rush.
Splitting Clips
If you want to edit out part of a clip in your project, you will have to put splits on either side of the section you want to remove.

- Position your cursor at one of the spots where you want the clip to split, and single-click to set the Playhead (the thin, blue, vertical line) there.

- Hit “s” on the keyboard, or click the Split button.
The Split button is located towards the bottom of the screen, on the left, and looks like a pair of scissors.

- Position your cursor where you want the second split and click to set the Playhead again.
- Make the split by hitting “s” or the Split icon.
Your clip will now be in three parts.
- Click the section you want to remove if it’s not already selected – Indicated by an orange outline.

- Hit “delete” on the keyboard or the Delete button to remove the unwanted segment.
The Delete button is located towards the bottom of the screen, on the left, and looks like a trash can.

After deleting the unwanted segment, the remaining segments will snap together.

Trimming Clips
To trim off sections of a clip at the beginning or end of the clip, you can use the trim tool.
- Hover over the edge of a clip and your cursor will switch to the trim tool automatically.

- Click-and-drag in the direction that you want to remove to shorten the clip.
