Just in time for Halloween, Beaver’s campus Library hosted a first of its kind open house for students, faculty and staff alike.  Visitors were greeted by the remains of a very determined librarian at the door and then offered a cupcake at the circulation desk as well as other seasonal treats.

Skeleton Librarian

Shh…or else!

Refreshments

Food and drink were definitely allowed in the collections.

Those brave enough to venture past the entryway, could either wander on their own to discover Library spaces and resources or take a tour with (living) librarians Amy Deuink, Elizabeth Theobald and Robin Schodt – as well as their student henchmen. Media Commons was on hand to offer those interested in learning more about media technology at Beaver a chance to get more information about what we offer, including loaner gear, editing stations and more.

MC Set Up

Just barely pictured: finger bone-shaped Beaver Library pen…

All in all, a fun and informative event. Thanks for inviting me to be a part of it and I look forward to the next one!
